Another chance for Kenny to raise your taxes and attempt to tell you not to believe your lying eyes!

Time after time, St. Mary's Commissioner Kenny Dement (R. Piney Point, Wildewood) has told the public he did not raise taxes, but the record is clear that Dement, Commissioners Jackie Russell (D. St. George Island), Dan Raley (D. Great Mills) and Tommy Mattingly (D. Leonardtown) have each year failed to maintain the constant yield which is the mechanism set up by the General Assembly for the counties to set the tax rate and therefore nullify the assessments set by the State which would increase property taxes. Even if Dement is too stupid to understand this, no one else has to be so dense or duplicitious, as in the case of Russell. Only Commissioner Larry Jarboe has voted to lower the tax rate to keep property taxes from being higher. Watch for a new round of tax hikes this year, just in time for the elections. Kenny Dement is a sneaky guy and he is trying to sneak back into office so he can keep raising your taxes. Don't let him do it. Give Dement the boot. Vote for Rich Johnson, who has a public record of speaking out on controlling costs and lowering the tax rate to make up for increased assessments.
I just got my property tax bill in the mail. Yep, it is more then last year. Thought Russell and Dement said they did not raise taxes. Well they lie.
My vote is for Town Hall Alliance.
I just got mine too. Ditto. Went up almost $350.oo The THA as I recall didn't say they would reduce taxes. They said they would hold the line on taxes principally by implementing Constant Yield. Wouldn't implementation of the Constant Yield formula actually reduce our tax payments? At any rate, Mr. Russell and Mr. Dement voted to raise my taxes so it's time for me to vote them OUT of office. I too will vote for the Town Hall Alliance.
