St. Mary's County has sufficient obligations in the near future to keep the taxpayers busy trying to fulfill these obligations without taking on the payment of new indebtedness for a library which is grandiose, over the top and out of town.

As a citizen and a candidate for St. Mary's Commissioner in next year's election where should I be fortunate enough to be chosen by the voters, the next Board will have to live with the choices made by this Board.

Therefore, in light of the really grim financial condition that this county, state and nation
are in, I request that our delegates and Senator do not pass the requested bond bill.

The days of electing rubes like Russell and Dement are hopefully over in St. Mary's County.  The challenges ahead require steady and reasoned leadership, not backwoods yahoos.  I will vote for Richard Johnson and Randy Guy instead of the fruit loops now in office.  I am a retired federal worker who cares about my property taxes, my income taxes and don't want my money wasted as my grandchildren need good schools, not a library we can't afford nor need.  It will be wonderful to see that wicked Tommy Mattingly gone for good.

Thanks for your support.  Our Slate of Candidates and Commissioner Larry Jarboe need your help.  Please spread the word.  Thanks again.

Rich Johnson

Commissioner Candidate for District 1
