King, Martin Luther
On Jan. 18, at 7:00 AM, there will be a breakfast and presentation in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. at the St. Mary's College Great Room.  I hope everyone will take time to attend this event.

Overcoming the oppression of discrimination followed many years after the Civil War.  Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life for this cause,  Today, the tyranny of oppressive taxation affects all of us, regardless of race.  Many people I talked to last week at the Knights of St. Jerome Hall were upset over the high property tax bills that they were having to pay to keep their homes.

In addition to the cultural program there will be inspirational music by the St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Gospel Choir.
Lollar, Charles
I also would like to introduce Charles Lollar, a Marine veteran and businessman from Charles County who is running as a Republican for Congress against Steny Hoyer.  Since Congressman Hoyer is a guest at the breakfast I hope that Mr. Lollar will also be welcomed at this event to show that he has the character and intellect to represent you in Congress.
The St.Peter Claver choir directed by Roy Johnson did an exceptional job performing inspirational songs.

I really enjoyed the breakfast and meeting all the participants.  Plus the food was excellent.
