I have had the pleasure of serving you, the people of St. Mary's County for nearly three terms and due to the interruption of my service by a spirited opponent whipping me in the primary in 1998, I sat out a term and am therefore able to serve yet one more time, should you, the voter, decide I am worthy.

I can tell you that I have tried my darndest to hold down the cost of government and to prevent tax hikes and it has been a losing effort due to the spending habits of my fellow commissioners, whom I hope you will agree with me, all need to be retired from service and put out to pasture or back on their crab boats and ball diamonds.

I have put together a team of people who I believe all have respect for your life, your wallet and your views and we all have been listening to you and get the message.  We get it when you say that you are worried about your jobs, your ability to meet your own obligations and cannot stand any higher taxes.  We need to make government more efficient and if you will vote for my team we will work together to achieve that goal. 

And we promise not to hold public hearings on Christmas Eve or have back room deals brokered like the Hayden Farm Deal, which stinks more and more every day as we continue to learn more details.
