Any Ideas? Budget passes on a 4-1 vote; here is why

Any Ideas?
This past Tuesday morning, the St. Mary’s County Board of County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2012 Budget in three 4-1 votes.
I noted that there was not majority support for the plan that I presented three weeks ago to provide an obvious property tax cut while funding needed teaching positions but I did appreciate the second to my motion and single vote of support from Commissioner Dan Morris. Also, I noted the priorities that are established by this budget.
Special interest entitlements are given priority over teaching positions

The entitled class who receive welfare, section 8 housing, free health care, tax credits when they don't pay taxes, free cell phones, free food and clothing...all have it figured out...just pump out the babies and receive more money!  That is the deal!

Why?

Following the 4-1 vote on granting the full faith and credit of St. Mary's County residents (even those who do not contract water and/or sewer services) to construction of new MetCom infrastructure, I have had many calls of gratitude for my lone vote of opposition.  However, there has been a central question common to each call.

Why did not any of the newly elected Republican officials stand with me to hold the Director of MetCom accountable to the same St. Mary's County Ethics Ordinance that we must abide by?

I do not know that answer.

Is Danny Morris really Tommy Mattingly in disguise?

On Thursday evening, I was honored to host a Town Hall debate/discussion in Mechanicsville at the Roofing by George meeting room.  George Hair was most gracious in donating this space for public use.

Ironically, and as expected, only the Town Hall Alliance candidates showed up to discuss issues that are especially important to residents in Northern St.

Breakfast helps Town Hall get off to a great start!
