Submitted by Rich Johnson on May 3, 2010

The Town Hall Alliance candidates attended the “Public Forum” so to discuss the “Constant Yield and Budget” of Saint Mary’s County.  I provided budget numbers from the budget that if incorporated would allow for a “Constant Yield”.  I also said more savings could be done like not spending $15,000 for a two day trip to New York for a Bond Hearing ($5,000 of which was spent on a Limo).  It was an interesting evening, and I had the honor to be interrupted by Commissioner Jack Russell during my 3 minute allotted time to speak.  Jack made the comment that the $15,000 spent in

I am proud to present the article sent to our Town Hall Alliance by Steve Riley on this 620 Acre Re-Zoning.

After reading Commissioner Thomas A. Mattingly Sr.'s comments (Feb. 10) I feel compelled to voice my opposition to the rezoning of 620 acres in Hillville from Rural Preservation District to Industrial.

The method used to get a last-minute vote in favor of rezoning remains suspect. I would be remiss if I didn't bring to the attention to the potential impact this rezoning will have on adjacent property owners. It is a quality-of-life issue to most folks.

Submitted by Rich Johnson on January 21, 2010

The Town Hall Alliance members Commissioner Larry Jarboe, Candidate Danny Morris, Candidate Randy Guy, and Candidate Rich Johnson spoke to the Republican club on what they stood for and how they wanted to serve as County Commissioners.   What was discussed was well received.   We very much appreciated the invite to speak and look forward to talking more to the club.
