Randy Guy Chicken BBQ was a Great Event (And "Old Dave Willenborg" dropped by)

By Rich Johnson, on Jul 11, 2010

I attended the free chicken BBQ held at the American Legion, Post 221 in Avenue, MD.  I enjoyed talking to all the folks that showed up.  Of course the BBQ chicken Randy Guy cooked up was excellent.   There were many folks who came who were just fed up with our current County Government and how “We the People” are not being served.    I will tell you this, we will do what we say which is the following:

20 Kilowatt Wind Turbine soon to be erected in Saint Mary's (Once it stops raining)

By Rich Johnson, on May 18, 2010

I figured I would update my status.  The turbine is ready to get erected, but now it is raining.  I have a crane ready to raise the tower, and as soon as the ground is not muddy and the crane will not get stuck, the tower will go up.  Here are pictures of the turbine:

By Rich Johnson, on May 3, 2010

The Town Hall Alliance candidates attended the “Public Forum” so to discuss the “Constant Yield and Budget” of Saint Mary’s County.  I provided budget numbers from the budget that if incorporated would allow for a “Constant Yield”.  I also said more savings could be done like not spending $15,000 for a two day trip to New York for a Bond Hearing ($5,000 of which was spent on a Limo).  It was an interesting evening, and I had the honor to be interrupted by Commissioner Jack Russell during my 3 minute allotted time to speak.  Jack made the comment that the $15,000 spent in

By Rich Johnson, on Mar 15, 2010

You would had thought the County Commissioners would had learned from the Secret Hillville Re-Zone and how the Public would not stand for it.  Well the County Commissioners did it again, and now to the good folks of Golden Beach with another sneaky Re-Zoning.  Of course the Public were kept in the dark once again.  Here is a letter from Commissioner Larry Jarboe who is the Only One voting against such sneaking Re-Zoning:

20 Kilowatt Wind Turbine Soon to be Erected in Saint Mary's (Post #1 & #2 & #3 & #4) "Painting Time"

By Rich Johnson, on Mar 11, 2010

This was the first of 2 Concrete Pours for the 100 foot tower.  We will wait 4 weeks after the last concrete pour before the tower is raised.  Before we raise the tower, we will run conduit up the tower for getting 3 phase power that will be generated by the turbine.  We will also install the 15 foot blades and tail.  We hope to offset our power consumption and analysis indicates we have a 10 MPH average wind speed which will equate to 19,727 KW Hours generated per year.  That is 60% of my consumption.  If the wind average goes to 12 MPH on the average, this wi

Do you believe

Do you believe the the commissioners are going to spend $10,000,000 less in the upcoming  budget?  Why didn't they spend $10,000,000 less in last years budget?  If the other four commissioners had listened to Larry Jarboe and adopted constant yield it would have saved the tax payers $6,000,000.  Do you think if it were not an election year, the other four commissioners would make a press release reporting they were not going to spend as much this year?
